If you feel adventure is calling then take a look at the activities below all available within a short drive from the French Holiday Home in Dordogne.

ROCK CLIMBING
HORSEBACK RIDING
RIVER RAFTING

There are over 1000km of MTB trails in the Dordogne region, through green valleys, stunning countryside and along the many rivers of the area.

These trails are mapped via ‘Plan-guides’ called ‘Sentiers du Périgord’ to form well-marked circuits (in yellow) and junction paths (in green) and are graded according to difficulty. They are open to cyclists, walkers and in some cases for equestrian use.

You can check out some maps here

MOUNTAIN BIKING

Ditch the car and the hussle of the towns, climb up onto a four legged friend who will take you to parts of this historical land scape unreachable by motor vehicles. there is a very high abundance of wild horses in this region come ride amongst them. There can be seen in so many parts of this area cave paintings from 1000's of years ago. “Man” has always had a good friendship with horses, and that is still the case today.
There are many riding teams that can take you to some of the “Jewels” of the Dordogne and Vezere Valley, the only difference, is the way they take you.

Dordogne is famous for its river. Why not decend the 120 km of the Dordogne from Argentat to Beynac, and discover varied landscapes, wooded hills of Corrèze, limestone cliffs of the Lot, and Castles of the Dordogne.
You can discover this idyllic setting with many companies from half day to full day cannoe hire or if you fancy a bit more of a thrill you can use an organised safari and raft through grade 2 to 3 waters.
